Fixed income giant Pimco plans to try out a new product line. IndexUniverse reports that Pimco filed for exemptive relief Tuesday for bond ETFs, even though the filing was not yet available on the SEC's website. Tammie Arnold, a managing director at Pimco, confirmed that Pimco made the filing, telling the pub, "We think it's a very logical extension. We view the ETF as an important delivery mechanism for our strategies." Arnold added that the bond fund shop is considering both active and passive ETF strategies.
