lobbying spending is getting a closer watch by the media than in the past. The Associated Press reported
Friday that the mutual fund lobbying group paid Covington & Burling
$240,000 in 2007 to lobby on tax issues. The report adds that the ICI's members include T. Rowe Price Group Inc.
, Legg Mason Inc.
and Goldman Sachs Group
(why those three were singled out is not clear). The report is based on a Feb. 13 disclosure filed with the Senate's public records office.
