Robert Kapito "would be most likely" to take the helm at the New York money manager if Fink moves on. Roger Smith, an equity analyst who covers BlackRock for investment bank Fox-Pitt Kelton Cochran Caronia Waller LLC, backs up the sources' thoughts, telling P&I reporter Mark Bruno that Kapito is more than qualified to take Fink's place.
