John W. Zimmerman has resigned from his post as executive vice president and managing director of Janus Institutional Asset Management.
According to an
SEC filing Wednesday morning, Zimmerman turned in his resignation on August 20; the effective date for the resignation is August 24.
Janus spokesperson James Aber told
The MFWire that Janus CEO
Gary Black will take over Zimmerman's duties in the interim. Aber added that Janus will be searching for a permanent replacement for Zimmerman.
Zimmerman is leaving the Denver-headquartered firm to start his own third-party distribution and marketing company, Aber said.
As the head of Janus' institutional asset management unit, Zimmerman oversees institutional sales, client service, consultant relations, business development and institutional cash management.
Before joining Janus in June 2004, Zimmerman was a managing director at Banc of America Capital Management, leading the institutional client service group that oversaw $55 billion in client assets.
