Patrick Sheppard, chief operating officer of Bank of New York Mellon Corp. subsidiary
The Boston Company, has lined up a new gig.
The MFWire reported last week that Sheppard is set to leave The Boston Company on August 24 (see

Monday morning, officials at
William Blair Investment Management said Sheppard will join the Chicago-based firm as COO effective September 4.
"Patrick will be an instrumental member of our leadership team. We have enjoyed significant growth over the past several years and we are committed to attracting and retaining the highest levels of talent to ensure our clients' continued success. Patrick’s background is perfectly suited to the business complexities of our growing global client base and product offering,"

Sheppard's departure is the eighth high-profile departure suffered by The Boston Company in recent weeks.
Munder Capital Management lifted out seven members of the the international core and international small cap investment teams earlier this month.
