MassMutual offers its Premier Funds, Select Funds and RetireSMART Funds primarily through MassMutual Retirement Services retirement plans, as well as through a closed block of IRA business. As of March 31, 2013, the three brands' 50-plus mutual funds held more than $23 billion.
The Premier mutual funds are sub-advised by MassMutual affiliates like Babson Capital, Baring International Investment Limited and OppenheimerFunds [profile]. The Select mutual funds, on the other hand, are sub-advised by firms outside the MassMutual family.
The third family, the RetireSMART Funds, are asset allocation products. They include both target date and target risk funds, and they invest in offerings from Premier, Select and OpFunds.
