Week of April 5, 1998
Monday, April 6, 1998. The New York Times.
Richard W. Stevenson in "Privatizing Social Security Gains Backers in Congress" reports that members of Congress are discussing Social Security reforms -- a move once considered electoral suicide -- without fear of political backlash. The author states that more and more people are becoming confident with the intricacies of the financial world as mutual funds, 401(k)'s, and other investment options flourish.
