Wellington Management was hired by socially-responsible investing firm Domini Social Investments to subadvise a new European equity fund, reported MarketWatch.

Managers of the Domini European Social Equity Fund will screen the mid- to large-capitalization range for socially and environmentally responsible companies.

"The quality of social research on European companies is pretty substantial (and) the commitment of European companies to social and environmental issues is pretty substantial," Steve Lydenberg, chief investment officer of Domini told MarketWatch.
