Ibbotson Associates has tapped a fund industry veteran to head its funds-of-fund asset management business. Scott Wentsel takes the title of senior portfolio manager at the Chicago-based firm and joins its investment management committee.

The 43-year-old was most recently an executive director with Morgan Stanley, where he worked with the Van Kampen Investments business based in Chicago. At Van Kampen, he held responsibilities in product research, management, development and marketing.

Before joining Morgan Stanley, he spent thirteen years at Scudder Kemper Investments.

"Scott Wentsel brings more than 20 years of investment industry experience to Ibbotson Associates," said Michael Annin, managing director. "His expertise and managerial skill will be a tremendous asset to the company as our investment management business continues to expand."
