Northern Trust has recruited a Chicago-based sales executive to join its institutional sales team. Daniel Strumphler joined as a director of institutional sales for Northern Trust Global Investments within the past six months, said spokeswoman Christine Harmon.

He reports to recent hire Robert Gray, director of U.S. institutional sales and consultant relations.

Strumphler did not immediately replace anyone for the position, said Harmon.

Prior to joining NTGI, Strumphler was a senior vice president at ABN Amro, where he headed institutional sales.
