The teams at
Great Place to Work and
Fortune recently
unveiled the 2023
Fortune Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance list, which includes one sub-list for large employers and one sub-list for small and medium employers. The Great Place to Work team has been gathering the data for 30 years, and this year's lists are based on more than 191,000 confidential responses from employees of Great Place to Work-certified companies. (Certification
involves conducting an employee experience survey and filling out a company culture and workforce questionnaire.)
In the mutual fund business, companies on the 2023 large financial services and insurance companies list include:
Nationwide at rank 5 (up from 6
last year),
Baird at 6 (up from 8),
Edward Jones (home of
Bridge Builder Funds) at 16 (down from 11),
Voya at 37 (up from 48),
Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America at 40 (down from 17), and
Morningstar at 45. And
Mirae's Global X holds rank 35 on the small and medium financial services and insurance companies list.
(Nationwide, Baird, and Edward Jones all
landed on a similar, broader Great Place to Work/Fortune any industry list released back in April.)
According to the Great Place to Work team, companies on the list "create great work experiences not just for full-time managers, but also for their part-time employees on the front lines, for those who've just joined and those who've spent their whole career there, for every race and ethnicity, gender, neurotype, or other demographic in the organization — they look at it all."
This year's list also includes several firms in the 401(k) recordkeeping business. Our sister publication
401kWire has more details.
