An ETF Chief Departs From a $196B-AUS Firm

A five-year veteran of a $195.8-billion-AUS (as of October 5) Midwestern asset manager has departed, taking with him more than twenty years of industry experience.

Last month, Ed Rosenberg left American Century Investments, MFWire has learned. Rosenberg, who is based in the Chicago area, served as senior vice president and head of ETFs at the Kansas City, Missouri-based fund firm.

Rosenberg did not return a call or email for comment.

A spokesperson for American Century writes to MFWire, "As part of a realignment at American Century Investments, Ed Rosenberg left the firm in mid-November to pursue other opportunities. The ETF investment team now reports to Cleo Chang, Chief Investment Solutions Officer."

Chang referred inquiries to a company spokesperson.

The spokesperson continues, "Ms. Chang is a member of American Century's Management Committee and joined the firm in 2015. We continuously evaluate opportunities to create tighter organizational alignment to meet the evolving demands of the industry and our clients. The alignment of our ETF investment team supports further acceleration of our success with Avantis Investors."

Prior to joining American Century, Chang was the chief investment officer and managing director of Wilshire Associates from 2005 to 2015. She was with Asset Strategy Consulting and then myCFO between 1999 and 2003. Chang is an alumna of the University of California, Berkeley and the UC Berkeley Marshall School of Business.

Rosenberg joined American Century in 2017 after four and a half years as senior vice president and head of ETF capital markets and analytics for Northern Trust. From 2010 to 2012, he was with Russell Investments as director and head of ETF capital markets and analytics. Between 1995 and 2010, he served in a number of brokerage, analytics, and ETF roles for Vanguard. Rosenberg is an alumnus of Muhlenberg College and Penn State University.
