Yesterday,
Bill Stromberg, president and CEO of
T. Rowe Price,
confirmed that he is
hiring Raymone Jackson as global head of diversity and inclusion at T. Rowe. Jackson most recently spent two years as national diversity officer at Morgan Stanley wealth management.
A spokesperson for Morgan Stanley confirms to
MFWire that Jackson left the company.
Jackson, currently based in the New York City area (Morgan Stanley's hometown), will be based in Baltimore (T. Rowe's hometown) in the new role.
"Raymone will be responsible for our global diversity and inclusion strategy," Robert Matthews, a spokesperson for T. Rowe Price, said in a statement emailed to
MFWire. "[He will be] overseeing our current diversity and inclusion programs and envisioning new strategies to help T. Rowe Price improve the attraction, development, and retention of diverse associates."
"I'm a passionate believer in the critical role that diversity and inclusion plays," Jackson states, "in facilitating a culture of inclusion and belonging, advancing an organization's priorities while meeting the needs of its clients, and positively impacting the lives of others."
Matthews tells
MFWire, "We chose Raymone because we believe he possesses the skills, acumen, and experience to guide the firm as we move toward our diversity and inclusion goals."
Stromberg states, "While we have made real progress over the last decade on our diversity journey, we know we have much further to go."
"We believe we are at an inflection point in that journey," Stromberg adds, "and Raymone's track record of success in attracting, developing, advancing, and retaining diverse talent in the financial services industry will accelerate our progress."
Michelle Swanenburg, head of human resources at T. Rowe Price, states, "Attracting and developing diverse talent globally is a business imperative that helps us create greater value for our clients and a better experience for our associates."
She adds, "Raymone is a results-driven leader and proven champion of diversity and inclusion strategies and programs. Our long-standing commitment to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace is more important than ever, and we look forward to benefiting from Raymone's deep experience."
Prior to his work at T. Rowe Price and Morgan Stanley, Jackson was at Northwestern Mutual for seventeen years. As of 2005, he has led One Acre Group, a commercial real estate development firm with a focus on revitalizing underserved communities, as founder and president. Jackson is an alumnus of Marquette University, the University of Phoenix, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Lubar School of Business.
