After 12 years with
Allianz Global Investors,
Giorgio Carlino, former global chief investment officer of multi-asset for, is leaving the company. He was based in Munich-based AllianzGI's U.S. headquarters in New York City.
"We simplified our multi asset leadership set-up by moving from a co-head structure with the appointment of
Thomas Zimmerer [emphasis added] as Global Head of Multi Asset Investments," an AllianzGI spokeswoman tells
MFWire via email. "
Thomas has over 20 years' investment industry experience and has been with AllianzGI since 2014, and was previously Global Co-Head of Multi Asset. Giorgio who previously co-head Multi Asset left the firm at that time."

In a
post on Linkedin, Carlino stated, "My deepest gratitude and immense appreciation to the fantastic team I had the honor to be part of and to lead, I am proud to say: we have built a Global Multi Asset Team second to none! I am very excited about the journey that I will embark upon next, I am sure our paths will cross again, and I am looking forward to it."
Carlino began his career at AllianzGI in 2008 as a senior PM in the Frankfurt area. In 2004, Carlina was a PM at RAS Asset Management SPA, and before he served as a junior PM in Commerzbank Prodotti di Borsa.
Carlino graduated from the Sapienza Università di Roma with a BS in economics and business administration. He received his masters in portfolio management and Risk control at the Universita di Bologna.
