A spokesperson for JPMAM did not immediately return a call for comment. An Allianz GI spokeswoman confirmed that Bonanno left the firm but declined to comment further.
The news of Bonanno's departure from Allianz GI breaks about one month after
MFWire reported on the retirement of another Allianz GI lawyer.
Bonanno was responsible for the global management of the Allianz GI's legal and compliance programs. He was also a member of the firm's U.S. Executive Committee.
Bonanno has more than 20 years of investment management regulatory experience, with nearly seven of those years spent with Allianz GI. Prior to joining Allianz GI, Bonanno spent 13 years with Goldman Sachs as managing director and associate general counsel. He worked in the Washington, D.C. office of Dechert LLP, at the U.S. SEC, and as a law clerk to D.C. Court of Appeals Judge John Terry.
Bonanno holds a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and a bachelor's in political science and government from the University of Michigan.
