The sales team at
ICON Advisers has said goodbye to a regional VP of sales for the southwest regional division.
Eddie Montanez was laid off from the firm in May.

Montanez was responsible for daily activities, including partnering with financial advisors in brokerage, independent, and RIA channels to increase their mutual fund sales through the use of ICON’s products. He served the greater Dever area; the company' headquarters is located in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Craig Callahan, founder and president of the firm, was not immediately available to comment.
Brian Callahan, chief marketing officer of Icon, says that the firm made changes after the firm's biggest client, accounting for about one third of revenue, made a change.
"Ohio National abruptly decided to
pull that contract," Brian Callahan tells
MFWire. "We unfortunately had to go through a round of layoffs."
"The position was not filled," Brian Callahan adds, regarding Montanez's old role.
"I am giving serious thought to what would like to do next," Montanez
stated. "I've always valued advice from my colleagues. If anyone hears or knows of possible opportunities, please let me know."
Montanez has approximately 19 years of experience in the financial services field. Prior to his time at ICON, he worked at Joost Industrial, Key Investment Services, Wells Fargo Advisors, and Morgan Stanley.
Montanez holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Colorado State University in Pueblo.
