Last night, Mansueto was recognized with the "fund action lifetime achievement award" at the 24th annual
Mutual Fund Industry Awards. His colleague, longtime fundster,
Don Philips, was also recognized, and was inducted into the "hall of fame." At this event, the fundster leaders at
Cipriani 42nd Street in NYC's theater district.
Putnam Funds's
Jamie Baxter was recognized with the coveted "fund directions lifetime achievement award." Putnam's wins didn't end there; his colleague,
Kathryn Lakin was given the "rising star" award.
Legg Mason's
Joseph Sullivan was honored with a distinctive award as well, the "fund leader of the year" award.
Many fund firms were recognized at the awards, which included dinner and a ceremony at the popular Italian venue.
The ceremony recognized
State Street Global Advisors with the "hall of fame" award. Certain individuals were also recognized, including:

Dimensional Fund Advisors was named "retirement leader of the year."
OppenheimerFunds was given the award for "ad campaign of the year."
Janus Capital Group and the
Henderson Group were recognized for their impending merger, and given the "deal of the year award."
BlackRock's iShares Fixed-Income ETF Suite was given the "sales success of the year award."
Diamond Hill Funds was given the "progressive fund board of the year" award.
JP Morgan Funds was recognized as the "social media leader of the year." The
WisdomTree Investments Dynamic Currency-Hedged ETF Suite was recognized as the "fund innovation of the year." The
Catalyst/Millburn Hedge Strategy Fund was awarded "alternative product of the year."
Various fundsters were also recognized for their individual achievements in the industry.

Mary Joan Hoene of
ASA Gold and Precious Metals Limited was named "small board trustee of the year."
Lori Schneider of K&L Gates was named "independent counsel of the year."
Laura Morrison of
Bats Global Markets was honored as "fund marketer of the year."
James Stavridis of
Neuberger Berman Funds was named "newcomer director of the year."
