FAs, fundsters, and other industry insiders are converging on Southern California this weekend for LPL's 27th annual Focus conference. The giant independent broker-dealer's team expects more than 6,000 attendees, including 3,500 advisors and their staff, more than 1,000 sponsors, plus LPL home office staff and guests.

Boston- and San Diego-based LPL has brought Focus back to San Diego for 2016, to the San Diego Convention Center. (Last year Focus was in Boston.) Pre-conference workshops and the "Focus on Women Advisors Forum" will start Monday morning, and the full conference welcome reception and concert (featuring Gavin DeGraw) is scheduled for Sunday night.

Featured speakers scheduled to appear at Focus 2016 include: political commentators Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson; actor Will Smith, interviewed by TV journalist Lisa Hughes; and former Facebook marketer Randi Zuckerberg.
