Keith Sloane, head of third-party distribution
at USAA Investment Management Company's [
profile] mutual fund business, is expanding his team's efforts in the key accounts and analyst relations areas.
"We continue to build out the business development group," as well as analyst and wholesaler relations,
Karyn Bostick, director of strategic relationship management at USAA, tells
MFWire. "We brought in two other business development team members in 2015."
"We have one current requisition open in the analyst relations space," and they may do more searches later this year, Bostick adds.
That analyst relations director would work alongside Bostick's current partner, analyst relations director
Steve Fry.
The idea, Bostick explains, is for the USAA team to be "very strategic with relationships" with platforms and broker-dealers.
"These partnerships are really, really strong," Bostick says. "We're up to 44 relationships [including wirehouses, independent B-Ds, and some regional B-Ds]. In 2016 we had 46 recommendations or placements within the industry."
