"Panic is not in Dodge & Cox's vocabulary."
That's one of many items of praise in a
Morningstar senior fund analyst's
"Fund Spy" column on
Dodge & Cox's [
profile] corporate culture grade of A from the Chicago-based mutual fund ratings specialists.
M* lauds a number of things about the San Francisco-based value equity mutual fund shop, including: the long tenure of Dodge & Cox's management and PM teams; management's ability to attract and retain top investing talent; "clear and consistent" disclosures and client communications; post-2008 soul-searching by PMs; a team-based PM approach instead of dependence on any one key PM; and the shop's shunning of advertising, marketing and sales.
