The world is Virginie Maisonneuve's oyster.

Pimco [profile] hired away yesterday Maisonneuve from Schroders [profile] to serve as head of the bond shop's troubled equities arm.

She replaces Neel Kashkari, the former TARP czar hired by Pimco in 2009 to build up its equities operation, only to depart in January.

The move generated a lot of press, including articles by the Financial Times, Bloomberg, CityWire, the Wall Street Journal, Fox Business, Reuters, InvestmentNews, and InvestmentWeek.
