Even as
Jack Bogle, Sr. continues to preach the futility of active management in the long run, his son is making the opposing argument, in deed if not in word.
Brendan Conway, in the
Barron's "Focus on Funds" column, notes that
John Bogle, Jr.'s
Bogle Small Cap Growth Fund [
profile], is solidly beating its benchmarks, both year-to-date and over the last 10 years.
"Even I can't help but chuckle to see the actively managed fund run by John Bogle, Jr., outperforming the index year after year," wrote Conway, who admitted to holding Bogle Sr "in an esteem bordering on reverence."
