SALIENT EXPANDS INSTITUTIONAL SALES TEAM

Jill Cohen Joins Firm as Director of Institutional Sales, Providing Institutional Investors access to a Broad Range of Research-Driven Strategies

HOUSTON – May 8, 2013 – Salient Partners L.P. (Salient), an $18 billion asset management firm, has continued to build out its institutional sales business by adding Jill Cohen as a Director of Institutional Sales. In this role her focus will be on delivering Salient’s investment products to institutional investors including corporate and public pensions, consultants, foundations and endowments, and institutional family offices.

Ms. Cohen is based in Salient’s New York office. She previously spent nearly five years at Citigroup, where she was a Director within Prime Brokerage and also served as Head of the Capital Introductions team for the Americas. In this capacity, Ms. Cohen introduced institutional investors to Citi’s global hedge fund clientele via ongoing strategic introductions, events and roadshows.  Her key focus was to deepen relationships with strategic allocators to cross-sell the firm’s products and services within capital markets. Ms. Cohen’s appointment is part of Salient’s ongoing growth of its institutional sales team, which coincides with the overall expansion of the firm’s product lineup.

“As we continue to grow the number and variety of investment strategies on our platform, Salient will offer even more opportunities for institutional investors to potentially achieve risk-managed returns and additional diversification,” said Lee Partridge, Salient Chief Investment Officer. “We are committed to directly serving the needs of this important investor base, and Jill’s experience and expertise will further enhance our efforts to bring Salient’s research-driven strategies to this key constituency.”

Prior to her roles at Citigroup, Ms. Cohen held several senior roles on the buyside, and most notably served as a Partner with MPM Capital, a $3 billion asset management firm specializing in healthcare investments within venture capital, private equity and hedge investments.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island, and was nominated to the Board of Directors for the College in 2010.  Ms. Cohen is a registered representative with FINRA and holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.
