State Street Global Advisors [
profile] is planning to launch three new active equity ETFs that use controlled-risk strategy. The funds will be the
SPDR SSgA Risk Aware ETF, the
SPDR SSgA Large Cap Risk Aware ETF, and the
SPDR SSgA Small Cap Risk Aware ETF.
State Street's
preliminary filing with the SEC for these new funds does not list their expected launch dates or expense rations. A State Street spokeswoman said that the firm cannot comment on products that are in the registration period with the SEC.
All three funds invest in equities chosen from Russell indexes and will adjust their holdings depending on the PMs' expectation of market risk. All three ETFs will be PMed by
Gary Lowe,
Simon Rowe, and
John O'Connell.
The new funds will be part of the
SSgA Active ETf Trust, which
currently holds five other funds. They will be listed on NYSE Arca.
