They've been warned about the fiscal cliff and the dividend, but there is at least one more cliff, the bond cliff, that investors don't appreciate, according to the
the Wall Street Journal.
Reporter Daisy Maxey writes this in her story on the subject:
Those who've been binging on bond mutual funds should at least be aware of the signs that may augur a nearing yield bottom. But many of the financial advisers and retail investors who believe they'll have time to trim plump fixed-income portfolios before bond prices fall may be in for a rude awakening.
She quotes insights from the following experts:
James Swanson, chief investment strategist at
MFS Investments [
profile];
Eric Jacobson, senior analyst at
Morningstar; and
Leo Grohowski, chief investment officer at
BNY Mellon Wealth Management.
