Joseph Amato, president and chief investment officer at
Neuberger Berman [
profile], just
unveiled a new alternative mutual fund. This week the New York City-based mutual fund firm officially launched the
Neuberger Berman Long Short Fund.
"We're excited to bring this innovative strategy to investors in a mutual fund format, a first for our firm," Amato stated.
The new fund, which quietly opened initially on December 29, is powered by Neuberger's Kantor Group. Managing director
Charles Kantors serves as lead PM, with support from Kantor Group research analysts
William Muller,
Charles Nguyen and
Marc Regenbaum. The Kantor Group already manages about $850 million of Neuberger's $199 billion in assets under management (as of March 31).
