Gamco Investors [see profile] plans to launch its new broker-dealer this summer. The b-d will be called G.distributors LLC and will focus solely on distributing the Rye, New York-based company's mutual funds.

The b-d's planned launch date is August 1, Gamco Investors president and COO Douglas Jamieson told The MFWire.com.

As previously reported by The MFWire, Agnes Mullady will serve as CEO of the new b-d, in addition to her present role as president and chief operating officer of Gabelli Funds' open-end fund division.

G.distributors LLC will take over distribution of the mutual funds from Gabelli & Company.
