Fundsters watching Davis Advisors [see profile] may want to take a look at Chuck Jaffe's latest column. Yesterday the MarketWatch columnist penned an attacked on the two-star, $30.1-billion Davis New York Venture Fund [see Morningstar] which faces bad headlines and portfolio losses due to the collapse of the share price of Sino-Forest Corp.

Jaffe likens investors who stick with the fund, PMed by Chris Davis, to "someone staying in an abusive relationship because their partner 'was good to me once.'" He includes commentary from No-Load Portfolios newsletter editor Pat Goodall and Morningstar analyst Dan Culloton.
