TIAA-CREF [see profile] has made a pair of sales hires for its asset management business.

The New York City-based firm brought on board Tony Carmenate as manging director, head of intermediary business development and Andrew Rasmusen as manging director, head of asset management consultant relations. They both report to John Panagakis, head of asset management business development.

Previously, Carmenate was an independent strategic marketing and sales management consultant and Rasmusen was a senior consultant with Angeles Investment Advisors.
