USA Today's John Waggoner has put together a list of a few new offerings that he deems potentially good enough to bet on.

Waggoner's list of funds that "deserve a look" include American Funds Global Balanced fund [see profile]; Hotchkis & Wiley Capital Income [see profile]; Royce Global Dividend Value fund [see profile]; Direxion Energy Bull 3X [see profile] shares; ProShares UltraShort Silver [see profile]; Global X Aluminum [see profile] and PowerShares Deutsche Bank 3X German Bond [see profile].

Waggoner cautions readers "to be careful with new funds, particularly narrowly specialized ones" but added that "small funds run by seasoned managers can be exceptionally appealing."
