Todd Campo as the first head of business development in the private bank channel. Campo previously did bank-focused business development work for
Neuberger Berman [

A spokeswoman for Neuberger declined to comment for this story.
At Allianz, Campo works with the national accounts team (which previously handled private banks) and reports directly to Gaffney, CEO of the distribution company. Campo started yesterday.
Gaffney praised Campo's "deep knowledge of and experience with the private bank channel."

Campo previously served as vice president of intermediary sales in the northeast for Neuberger, and he has also worked at American Skandia Advisor Funds, GE Capital Life Assurance Company and Pimco.

New York, NY, March 29, 2011 – Allianz Global Investors Distributors (AGID) announced today that it has hired Todd Campo to head up business development in the private bank channel. This is the latest in a series of high-profile hires for the firm as it looks to expand into new distribution channels.
In this role, Todd will be responsible for calling on private banks focused on high net worth investors, an important client segment for AGID. He will report to Brian Gaffney, CEO of AGID and will work closely with the firm’s National Accounts team.
“Todd’s deep knowledge of and experience with the private bank channel will be invaluable to our firm as we look to increase our focus on high net worth investors,” said Brian Gaffney.
Todd joins AGID from Neuberger Berman where he led bank business development and was responsible for creating and growing distribution with major banks. Prior to taking on that role, he was Vice President – Intermediary Sales for Neuberger where he ran sales activities across the northeast region and was ranked #1 in managed account sales in 2006 and 2007. Todd brings a depth of experience across the asset management industry serving in a variety of sales roles at American Skandia Advisor Funds, PIMCO and GE Capital Life Assurance Company, among others.
