Richard England, lead portfolio manager of
Atlanta Capital Management Co. is
reportedly bullish on the financials sector.
England tells the
Wall Street Journal's Matthias Rieker that bank stocks have gained traction and remain overall cheap, although "valuations aren't quite as cheap as they were a year ago, but still pretty low."
He currently likes J.P. Morgan Chase, & Co. and Wells Fargo as well as SunTrust Bank Inc. and Zions Bancorp.
The $1.7 billion Calvert Equity Portfolio has reportedly outperformed its benchmark, the S&P 500, by nearly two percentage points in the past year, returning some 22 percent.
