BU Taps Fund Exec Expertise

by: Sean Hanna, Editor in Chief

Executives from Putnam, Pioneer and John Hancock Funds are among the newly-appointed advisory board members for the Boston University Online Program for Financial Planners.

The multimedia program for financial planners and professionals was put together by Boston University and Acadient and is an extension of the University's classroom based program.

The board members from the fund industry include:

  • Daniel T. Geraci, President and CEO, Pioneer Investments
  • Keith F. Hartstein, Senior Vice President, John Hancock Funds
  • Jane M. Mancini, Managing Director, Putnam Investments
  • Jack Sharry, President, Private Client Group, Phoenix Investment Partners, Ltd.

Robert Clark, who helped create the Morningstar Advisor Web site, is also on the 23 member advisory board.

"We are proud to have so many leaders from such a wide cross section of the financial services industry behind Boston University's online program. Their participation will assist us in creating a program of the highest industry standards, and their continued involvement will assure that those standards are maintained," said John Ebersole, associate provost and dean of Boston University's Division of Extended Education.
