Are hedge fund-like mutual fund offerings on the rise or just overhyped? Fundsters looking to dip their toes in hedged mutual fund space may want to check out today's
Wall Street Journal Fund Track article.
"We're at the very early stages of a multitrillion-dollar wave that's going to wash over the long-only asset-management industry," the WSJ quotes Charles Kusen of Kusan Capital Management LLC as saying.
Example of hedgies that have made their foray into the '40 Act world include
Stephen Roseman, who in March launched a mutual fund,
Thesis Flexible Fund. Then there's
AQR Capital Management which last year entered the mutual fund business with the rollout of several '40 Act offerings.
