James Wylie for the newly created position of chief marketing officer, a company spokesman confirmed to
The MFWire.com. Wylie joined the Berwyn, Pennsylvania-based firm this month and reports to founder, chairman and chief investment officer
Bob Turner.
Wylie heads up the company's sales, client-service, and marketing activities.
Previously, Wylie was global head of sales and marketing at
Old Mutual subsidiary
Acadian Asset Management [
see profile] . Acadian has not yet named a replacemnt, according to an industry insider.
Wylie earlier worked at Pilgrim Baxter & Company, The Blackstone Group, Barclays Global Investors and Salomon Brothers.
At Turner, Wylie is also part of the executive management group, which includes chief operating officer Thomas Trala and chief of investment strategies
Matthew Glaser.

BERWYN, Pa. - James A. Wylie has been appointed chief marketing officer and executive managing director at Turner Investment Partners, an employee-owned investment-management firm.
Mr. Wylie leads the firm's sales, client-service, and marketing activities. His appointment reflects the firm's commitment to continue to expand its business and offer its separately managed accounts and mutual funds in stocks globally. He reports to Bob Turner, chairman and chief investment officer at Turner, which manages more than $16 billion in assets, as of June 30, 2010.
Mr. Wylie also joins Turner's Executive Management Group, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm and for developing and executing corporate strategy in concert with the board of directors. Mr. Wylie joins Thomas R. Trala, chief operating officer, and Matthew D. Glaser, chief of investment strategies, as members of the group.
Most recently Mr. Wylie served as executive vice president and global head of sales and marketing at Acadian Asset Management. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in international relations and economics at Colgate University in 1986 and an MBA degree in finance at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in 1991.
He lives in Haverford, Pennsylvania.
