Equinox Fund Management's Frontier Fund yesterday tapped ex-OppenheimerFunds executive Richard Knott as a member of the executive committee. [SEC filing]

Knott left his post as president of OppenheimerFunds Distributor last October. He has served as consultant to Denver-based Equinox since February of this year.

The Frontier Fund is a family of managed futures funds. In April, Equinox rolled out a mutual fund called the MutualHedge Frontier Legends Fund.

Knott spent more than 10 years at OppenheimerFunds. He took a somewhat unconventional route to the asset management industry. Knott worked for the United States Postal Service for approximately 10 years, working his way up the ranks from letter carrier to postmaster over his tenure, including negotiating several local labor contracts.
