U.S. Global Investors'
new Web site went live last week, as U.S. Funds' investment advisor revamped the site to be more investor-friendly by being less busy and having clearer and better content, U.S. Global spokesman
Ryan George said.
George told
The MFWire that the company “stripped down some of the busyness we had before and put the funds and different content first and foremost.”
About “80 percent” of the work was done by the San Antonio, Texas-based firm's in-house Web design team, with the rest of the work being done by content management company
HotBanana, George said.
New content includes fund descriptions as well as company history information in the “about us” section. The site also features its CEO blog, commentary by
Frank Holmes, front and center on the main page, whereas before it was less prominent.
The last time the site was updated was in 2001 or 2002, George said. This most recent redesign spent about a year in development — nine months in planning and three months in implementation.
