Pimco's lineup of ETFs will include at least one actively managed product,
Ian Salisbury reports in Thursday's
WSJ Fund Track. Word of the Newport Beach, California-based firm's plans to roll out a line of
ETFs first surfaced in June (see
MFWire July 29, 2008).
Tammie Arnold, managing director at Pimco, told Salisbury that the company plans to launch an initial active bond ETF and is also interested in possibly developing equity, commodity, and asset allocation active ETFs. The company could not say when it expects to get final approval for the products from the SEC.
Thursday's Fund Track column also mentioned
Munder Capital Management's plan, announced Tuesday, to exit the money-market mutual fund arena. (see
MFWire September 2, 2008)
