James Oberweis, former president of Oberweis Asset Management, has won a political victory. Morningstar's Fund Times reports that Oberweis has won the Republican nomination in Chicago's 14th District, a seat formerly held by House Speaker Dennis Hastert. Oberweis, who left the fund business in 2001, has made many unsuccessful stabs at winning a public office since then.
