AIM Investments has named
John Cooper as the head of U.S. Sales. Cooper, 46, had been AIM's Director of Business Development and National Accounts.
Cooper had been spearheading the effort to find replacements for
Gene Needles, the former president, CEO and chairman of AIM Distributors and
James Steuve, the former executive vice president with AIM Distributors and director of retail sales with AIM Investments. Both were demoted and later left the company back in June of this year. (See,

Phil Taylor, Senior Managing Director and Head of INVESCO, said in a press release, "We had been conducting a search internally and externally for a sales leader for AIM in recent months and have determined that John is the right person to lead our sales activities in the U.S.."
A company spokesman told the
MFWire that Cooper is replacing Needles, leaving Steuve's former position still up for grabs.
