American Century Investments on Monday rolled out its
Livestrong Portfolios, the fund products developed as part of a strategic partnership with champion cyclist
Lance Armstrong.
Last February the Kansas City, Missouri-based fund firm announced its arrangement with the seven-time Tour de France winner, whereby he has appeared in an ad campaign and will participate in several promotional events. American Century, meanwhile, has re-branded a group of target date funds, which were created in 2004 and hold about $300 million in assets, as the
Livestrong Portfolios.
Reuters reports the company will donate at least $1 million annually to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which supports cancer sufferers and survivors and their families, for the duration of the partnership. While the donation may be higher, depending on the amount invested in the funds, investors' money will not be involved in these payments.
