Retirement is not just all about golfing, boating and living in Florida. For one former Fidelity executive, retirement also means serving as a trustee. J. Gary Burkhead, a retired chairman of Fidelity Investments, has joined Scripps Research Institute's 30-member board, reports the Palm Beach Post.

Burkhead left Fidelity in 2000, after serving as president of Fidelity Personal Investments and Brokerage, president of Fidelity Institutional, Fidelity Management and Research, and Fidelity Investments Institutional Services.
