The AFL-CIO is making Charles Schwab
its next target in its Social Security lobbying. The decision to pressure the San Francisco-based broker was confirmed by AFL-CIO spokesman Steven B. Weingarten to The Kansas City Star
Earlier this week Waddell & Reed said it would not renew its membership in the Alliance for Worker Retirement Security. It had also been targeted by the union's campaign. The first broker to reverse course under pressure from the AFL-CIO was Edward Jones.
