Pioneer Parent Names Top Executives

The Italian parent of Pioneer Investments has made a pair of moves in its top executive ranks. Pioneer Global Asset Management, the group holding company, named Giordano Lombardo as deputy chief executive officer and Marco Onado as chairman. Lombardo is a company founder and global chief investment officer.

Company officials said the assignments are "designed to align executive responsibilities with business requirements and strengthen the commitment to independence in corporate governance."

Lombardo will divide the duties of running the group with CEO Dario Frigerio. Lombardo will oversee managerial activities including investments, operations and commercial activities. Frigerio will deal with strategic issues, audit risk management and compliance in addition to his new strategic role as head of the Wealth Management Division of UniCredito Italiano.

The UniCredito Italiano division includes Pioneer Investments, UniCredit Private Banking and IFA Network, Xelion.
