The folks at a publicly traded insurer's $138.1-billion-AUM* mutual fund business are preparing to shut down a $48.396-million-AUM** quartet of ETFs.
Last Wednesday (May 14), the
Hartford Funds [
profile] team
revealed plans to
liquidate four funds:
the Hartford Longevity Economy ETF (HLGE on the NYSE Arca, Inc.);
the Hartford Multifactor Diversified International ETF (RODE on the Cboe BZX Exchange, Inc.);
the Hartford Multifactor International Small Company ETF (ROIS on the Cboe BZX); and
the Hartford Schroders Commodity Strategy ETF (HCOM on the NYSE Arca).
The Hartford team expects the four liquidating ETFs' last day for trading and creation orders to be June 23. The liquidation is scheduled for a week later, on June 30.
"Hartford Funds' commitment to responding to investors' needs includes a regular review of its product lineup, which has led to a decision to liquidate the following funds," the Hartford Funds team explains in a statement on the planned liquidations.
Hartford Funds Management Company, LLC serves as investment advisor to HCOM.
Schroder Investment Management North America Inc. serves as the fund's subadvisor, and Schroder Investment Management North America Limited serves as sub-subadvisor.
Hartford's
Lattice Strategies LLC serves as investment advisor and index provider to ROIS, RODE, and HLGE.
BNY's Mellon Investments Corporation serves as the three ETFs' subadvisor.
ROIS' inception date was March 18, 2024. The fund now has $5.471 million in AUM.**
HCOM's
inception date was September 14, 2021. The fund now has $9.986 million in AUM.**
HLGE's
inception date was March 16, 2021. The fund now has $12.708 million in AUM.**
RODE's inception date was May 10, 2017. The fund now has $20.231 million in AUM.**
RODE is designed to track the
Hartford Multifactor Diversified International Index (LRODEX). HLGE is designed to track the
Hartford Longevity Economy Index (LHLGEX). And ROIS is designed to track the
Hartford Multifactor International Small Company Index (LROISOX). ROIS, HLGE, and RODE are PMed by the same five-person Mellon team, which includes:
David France, senior vice president and senior portfolio manager;
Todd Frysinger, SVP and senior PM;
Vlasta Sheremeta, SVP and senior PM;
Michael Stoll, SVP and senior PM; and
Marlene Walker Smith, senior director and head of equity index portfolio management.
HCOM is PMed by two Schroders executives:
James Luke and
Malcolm Melville.
HCOM is an actively managed series of the
Hartford Funds Exchange-Traded Trust. HLGE, RODE, and ROIS are passively managed series of the
Lattice Strategies Trust. The four ETFs' other service providers include:
SS&C's Alps Distributors, Inc. as distributor and principal underwriter;
Citibank, N.A. as securities lending agent;
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC as independent accounting firm; and
State Street Bank and Trust Company as custodian and transfer agent.
