After 22 Years, an SVP Leaves M*, And ...

Reported by Selma Khenissi, Reporter

A senior Morningstar veteran in the Sunshine State is leaving the Illinois investment research giant after more than 22 years and joining a technology ally to RIAs.

Dave Goes
Advyzon
President of Enterprise Sales
Dave Goes is leaving Chicago-based M* and his most recent role of senior vice president research sales specialist, confirms a M* spokesperson. And today the Advyzon team confirms that Naples, Florida-based Goes is joining the firm (also Chicago-based) in the newly created position of president of enterprise sales.

Goes' last day at M* was on February 1, the M* spokesperson tells MFWire. The spokesperson adds that Goes' role at M* has not been filled.

"As we figure out how to best backfill Dave's role, Dave's responsibilities are spread across the existing team," the M* spokesperson writes to MFWire. "We appreciate Dave's many years of contributions to Morningstar and wish him well."

"After 22 plus years, this past week, I resigned from Morningstar to pursue other opportunities," Goes wrote last month in a LinkedIn post. "More on the exciting future in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, I'd like to thank some the many people, still at Morningstar, with whom I've had the pleasure of journeying at this amazing, mission-based company."

Commenting on Goes' post, M* founder and executive chairman Joe Mansueto describes Goes as "an outstanding leader."

"We owe you many thanks for all your contributions. You've been great to work with — always positive, engaged and determined to find ways to win. You built great relationships with our clients so it was a pleasure (and great fun!) going on sales calls with you," Mansueto writes. "All the best to you in your next adventure. I'm sure you'll do great in whatever you put your mind to doing. Stay in touch!"

Goes joined Ibbotson Associates in 2001, and he stayed on in 2006 when M* acquired Ibbotson. He is an alumnus of St. Joseph's College.
