Katie Koch is bringing a 16-year J.P. Morgan veteran onto the senior leadership team at
TCW [

Yesterday, in an internal memo seen by
MFWire,
Koch confirmed that
Meg McClellan recently
joined Los Angeles-based TCW as head of corporate strategy, a newly created role. Doug Morris, a TCW spokesperson, confirms that
McClellan started in her new role yesterday and now reports to Koch, who
took over in February as president and CEO of TCW.
McClellan most recently served as global head of private credit at
J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM).
"J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Private Credit businesses now report to
Anton Pil, Head of Global Alternatives," JPMAM spokesperson Sam Wallman tells
MFWire via email.
At TCW, though McClellan "will spend considerable time in Los Angeles" at HQ, she will be based in the fixed income asset manager's New York office, Koch confirms in the memo.
"Meg will work closely with me and our business leaders to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for TCW focused on growth and innovation," Koch writes. "She will also engage with all of TCW's leaders to help us identify the most effective ways to build TCW's business globally."
"I believe TCW has incredible potential by building on our existing strengths, developing adjacent capabilities, and growing our global capabilities and footprint," Koch adds. "As I indicated in the most recent town hall, we will discuss our strategic plan in greater detail in the autumn."
Koch praises McClellan as "an accomplished leader ... with a clear view of market opportunities globally and deep strategic acumen."
"She and I share a high level of excitement for the future of TCW and look forward to driving our global growth plans," Koch writes.
McClellan joined J.P. Morgan in 2007 as a fixed income trader, and she has since served in a variety of JPMAM leadership roles, including: U.S. head of fixed income, global head of fixed income strategies, and CFO. Earlier, she worked as a PM at Dillon Read Capital Management and in fixed income sales and trading at BofA. She is an alumna of the University of Chicago and of NYU's Stern School of Business.
