MetLife Advisers LLC is about to Putnam Investment with Fidelity Management & Research Co. as subadviser to its Metropolitan Series international stock portfolio, according to an SEC filing on Friday.

The name of the fund will also be changed to the FI International Stock Portfolio.

The hiring of Fidelity is on an interim basis that ends on May 14, 2004. That agreement will be made permanent if approved by the funds' board. Fidelity will take over the mandate on Tuesday.

MetLife did not disclose specific reasons for the change in the filing.
