Nicsa 2021 Fearless Leadership Symposium.

The
Rising Star Awards is a
new mentorship and awards initiative (part of Nicsa's
Diversity Project North America) aimed at providing networking and career development opportunities to aspiring leaders of all backgrounds in the asset management industry.
"Forward thinking c-suite executives can prioritize DE&I," says
Frieda Lewis, chief commercial diversity officer at
Broadridge Financial Solutions, who hosted the award ceremony. "Business leaders are in a constant state of learning when it comes to this."
Lewis adds, "We want to look forward and recognize the need to build a diverse future generation of leaders ... which is exactly why Nicsa created this Rising Star program."
"In choosing this year's recipients, we looked for individuals in the early stages of their careers, with five to eight years of experience, who have demonstrated leadership qualities."
She says the award winners will receive six months of coaching in a nationally-recognized leadership development program, as well as broad recognition within the industry.
"The Rising Star program is an opportunity for firms to focus on the next generation of diverse leaders," Lewis concludes. "The culture of asset management firms needs to change, and it needs to change now. Recognizing these leaders is a first step for a better future."
