An experienced recruiter in the asset management industry has stepped into a new role at the Boston-based global advisory firm Ridgeway Partners.

Michael Fitzgerald, also based in Boston, recently moved out of his last position as managing director at RSR Partners and into a partner position at Ridgeway, founded in 2004. Fitzgerald was with RSR from June of 2018 to April of this year.

A spokesperson for RSR declined to comment.

"In his new role, Mike will be working with Kevin McKeon, a partner at the firm. He and Kevin are leading our asset management and wealth management practice," Charles Preusse, managing partner at Ridgeway, tells MFWire. "They're equivalent in rank, and I manage both. All of us are members of a fifty-person firm, half in London, the other half split between New York and Boston."

Apart from Fitzgerald and McKeon, Preusse says, Ridgeway does not have recruiters in asset management at the senior level.

"His decades-long experience building and leading distribution teams will be immensely valuable to our clients. Prior to his work at both Ridgeway and RSR, Fitzgerald was managing director at the Charles Sterling Group for a year and eight months, and head of intermediary distribution and managing director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management for six years. He was senior managing director of sales and relationship management at MFS Investment Management for fourteen years, from 1996 to 2010. Fitzgerald is an alumnus of Siena College.
